Michigan Church of God Family Lock-in
Thank you for your interest in the Michigan Church of God Family Weekend – formerly the Michigan Church of God Family Lock-in. It’s been so much fun, we decided to expand!
The UCG-Saginaw congregation will once again host the Michigan Church of God Family Weekend. This year we have moved the event to Memorial Day weekend and have added additional activities. The festivities begin with Sabbath Services at 2:30 pm on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Saginaw Valley State University Ryder Center.
After services a meal will be provided, followed by preteen bible activities, a teen and young adult bible study, and an adult seminar. Later in the evening and throughout the night you will be able to participate in family-oriented activities including games, movies, music and more. Various sports will also be available, such as swimming, basketball, dodgeball, and volleyball. The Ryder Center will be open all night, as we have done in years’ past. (Check out all that the Ryder Center has to offer at: www.svsu.edu/rydercenter.)
Food, fellowship, and fun will be provided throughout the night! We will have quiet areas for those wanting to rest or catch some sleep. The lock-in portion of the weekend will end with breakfast at 7:00 Sunday morning.
’s, we will have a picnic. For those who haven’t had enough sports activities, basketball, croquet, horseshoes, and a giant slip-and-slide will be available. Or, you might just want to hang out, sit by the pond, or play some music.
There are plenty of hotels in the area for those who want a good night’s sleep. See the hotel list for hotels offering a discount. We will also have some floor space available at member’s homes Sunday morning before the picnic for those who want to get some rest.
Costs for the weekend will be $25.00. This includes all of the activities and provided meals. The cost for parents and those not staying for all of the activities will be $15.00.
While we plan to have activities for all ages, anyone attending below the age of 13 (or in 7th grade) will need to be accompanied by an adult.
There are also some things that you should plan to bring with you.
