Greetings!
Thank you for your interest in the Michigan Church of God
Family Lock-in. We are looking forward to having you join us!
Our event will begin with Sabbath Services at 2:30 PM on
Saturday, March 22 at the Ryder Center on the Saginaw Valley State University campus. Included in the package sent to all churches is a map showing how to
get to the campus.
After services we will have a short break for some
fellowship and refreshments. We will then have Bible studies for the adults and
teens, as well as youth instructions and activities for pre-teens.
A chicken dinner will be provided for all attendees, after
which we will all gather in the arena for some fun and games for the whole
family.
The pool will be open from 9:00 - 11:00 PM for anyone
wanting to take advantage of the beautiful Olympic size pool. Plenty of life
guards and supervisors will be on hand!
For those who are not interested in swimming, we will have
games and movies available.
Throughout the night we will have quiet areas for those
wanting to rest or catch some sleep, a movie room, games, and plenty of sports
activities. There are basketball courts, volleyball courts, racquetball courts,
indoor track, walleyball, and more. Check out all that the Ryder Center has to offer at: www.svsu.edu/rydercenter.
We will have a mixture of organized activities and free time
throughout the night. Activities will wrap up about 6:30 on Sunday morning.
There are a few things you need to keep in mind. While we
plan to have activities for all ages, anyone attending below the age of 13 or
in 7th grade will need to be accompanied by an adult.
Costs are approximately $15 per child and $10 per adult.
Children are more expensive because the facility charges per child while adults
are free. We are asking for donations to cover the costs. This is not intended
to be a money making event.
There are also some things that you should plan to bring
with you. Here are some suggestions:
- Snacks and drinks (dinner, pizza snack, coffee, tea, lemonade
will be provided)
- Bibles and notebooks
- Sports apparel and equipment (indoor balls, racquets,
etc.)
- Swimsuit and towel
- Games, cards, dominos, puzzles, etc.
- Air mattress / sleeping bag
For those of you bringing teens, who will want a good night's
sleep, there are several hotels in the area offering special rates. See the
list of hotels for additional information.
Please sign up or register early! We need to know by March
10 how many are planning to attend so that we can prepare the dinner and other
activities. You can add your name to the sign up list or send an email to craigclark@juno.com with the information requested.
We look forward to seeing you there!
